This time of year tends to be cold, windy and sometimes snowy. The last thing you want to do is leave your house. As much as I enjoy going to a spa and getting services I just don't want to leave my house right now and I am currently snowed in. I felt like I needed a pick me up today so I rummaged through my products and made my own spa day. I admit I am a product junkie, but I'm sure if you searched around your bathroom or even your fridge you have plenty of items hanging around to have your own spa day. I picked out my favorite products that I thought I'd share with you today.
First on my list is the Trader Joe's Foaming Milk Bath. I got this as a set with the body lotion and love it. It has a nice light and fresh scent of vanilla. It makes the tub bubbly and soothing. I'm a big fan of Trader Joe's. They do not have many bath products but every one I have tried I loved and they are reasonably priced. This set was a steal!
Dermalogica's Ultra Calming Cleanser is a great cleanser good for all skin types and gentle for our winter skin. I lathered my face up with this and used my Clarisonic to exfolliate. When using a Clarisonic do not press down it does everything for you. It is very easy to overuse a Clarisonic. Do not go nuts with this or else you are going to give yourself an array of skin issues. I only use my once sometimes twice a week!
I patted my face dry and used Farm House Fresh Pajama Paste. This one is a honey and oat yogurt mask. I love this stuff! I leave it on for about 15- 20 minutes and it tightens up and can feel a bit warm. It almost feels like you are using a Retin A product. My skin feels so plump and smooth after using this. I don't think I have found one product from Farm House Fresh that I did not like. All of their scrubs smell and feel fabulous and their lotions are amazing and all of the scents are great. You can find these products in specialty stores or salons and spas that carry them. They are also very reasonably priced for a professional product.
After taking the mask off I go back to the Ultra Calming line in Dermalogica and spritz their toner to cool my skin down and get back to a normal pH. Dermalogica is sold in Salons, Spas, and many Retail stores.
I also treated my dry feet to The Body Shop's Chocolate Scrub to help remove dead skin. Their scrubs are nice and gritty for those extra dry areas. The only down fall to this product is it's quite messy but I think it is worth the clean up.
My two skin care splurges are the Jan Marini cesta eye cream and the Eminence Coconut facial moisturizer. These products do have a higher price tag but I love the way they make my skin feel. The eye cream helps reduce fine lines and plump the eye area. I like to say it's a wake up for my eyes. The eminence is more of a heavy moisturizer great for night time and combating dryer winter skin. It also makes my skin feel tighter and smoother and it has a nice light coconut scent.
My last product of the night is the Trader Joe's Milk Body lotion. Great all over body lotion. It does not stay tacky and it's not to heavy feeling. A nice light moisturizer with a nice light scent.
I certainly enjoyed my snow day pick me up. Now it's time for you to do the same!
